New Delhi, June 25 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Thursday visited Sanjay Lake in East Delhi to review the ongoing restoration and rejuvenation works of the prominent recreational park, and the water body.

During the on-site inspection, officials of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), and its Vice Chairman, briefed the LG Sandhu on the phased action plan designed to revive the 52-acre manmade water body and its surrounding 165-acre protected forest.

The LG had taken serious note of reports on the lake's pathetic condition due to drying up of water supply and accumulation of silt/ garbage and sewage, and has directed DDA to undertake its rejuvenation in mission-mode.
