New Delhi, April 14: Temperatures in the national capital continued to rise over the past week, crossing the 40degC mark in several parts of the city on Thursday.Safdarjung, Delhi's base station, recorded a maximum of 40.3degC, 3.5 degrees above normal, up from 39.1degC a day earlier. Among other stations, the Ridge recorded the highest temperature at 41.4degC, while Lodhi Road and Ayanagar logged 40.1degC and 40.4degC, respectively. Palam recorded a comparatively lower 39.4degC.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said temperatures may touch around 42degC from Friday onwards, though heatwave conditions are unlikely over the next seven days."Maximum temperature may rise by 1-2degC over the next 24 hours, followed by a fall of 1-2degC,"...
