New Delhi, May 22 -- The Delhi High Court on Friday granted three days' interim bail to Umar Khalid in the UAPA case linked to the alleged larger conspiracy behind the 2020 North East Delhi riots.

A division bench comprising Justices Prathiba M Singh and Madhu Jain directed that Khalid be released from June 1 to June 3, subject to strict conditions.

Khalid had sought 15 days' interim bail to attend the Chehlum ritual following the death of his uncle and to assist his mother before and after her scheduled surgery on June 2.

Senior Advocate Trideep Pais, appearing for Umar Khalid, submitted that Khalid had previously been granted interim bail to attend his sister's wedding and had also been given similar relief on two subsequent occasions....
