New Delhi, June 1 -- In major relief to farmers of the national capital, the Delhi government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has decided to provide compensation of Rs 75,000 per hectare for crop damage due to excessive rain in August-September last year.
Earlier, the compensation was pegged at Rs 20,000 per hectare, which was in implementation since 2015.
According to officials, around 10,000 farmer families are going to benefit from the decision.
The Delhi Cabinet chaired by CM Gupta gave its nod to the decision following a discussion on the issue.
