New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- Delhi government's women welfare scheme 'Lakshmi Yojana', to provide monthly financial assistance to beneficiaries, was formally launched on Wednesday with the distribution of the first 4,000 sanction letters to eligible women.

The scheme was launched in the presence of union Minister & BJP Delhi Chief Harsh Malhotra, Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

According to the Chief Minister, so far, more than 9 lakh 22 thousand women across the national capital have registered for the scheme. The launch ceremony saw the distribution of the first 4,000 sanction letters to eligible women.
