New Delhi, April 28 -- : Residents of Delhi on Tuesday experienced a mild relief from searing temperatures that gripped the city for more than a week.

Mild drizzle was reported in parts of Delhi, with Palam and Lodhi Road base stations recording trace levels of rainfall.

At Safdarjung, Delhi, the base weather station, the maximum temperature dropped by over 3 degrees, and settled at 39.2 deg C in the near normal range.

Weather officials said that the drop was higher in the Ridge area, which stood at 39, falling by nearly 5 degrees in the last 24 hours.

Experts noted a further drop in the temperatures over the city during the next three days.

"Fall by 3-4degC in maximum temperatures during the next 3 days and rise by about 2-3degC there...
