New Delhi, July 2 -- Light rain and gusty winds brought relief from the recent heat in New Delhi on Thursday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for more showers, thunderstorms and strong winds later in the day.
Safdarjung, Delhi's base weather observatory, recorded 4.6 mm of rainfall until 8:30 am, falling under the 'light' rainfall category, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Several other stations across the national capital recorded mild rainfall, offering respite from sweltering temperatures since last week.
