New Delhi, June 1 -- A Delhi court has concluded the trial in a sexual assault case involving a minor girl within eight days and sentenced the 38-year-old convict to rigorous imprisonment for life, police said on Monday.
According to police, the victim was more than 32 weeks pregnant when an FIR was registered on April 17 this year. She alleged that her neighbour had sexually assaulted her multiple times in July 2025.
Police said the charge sheet under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was filed before the court within 34 days of the registration of the case. The court delivered its judgment at the conclusion of the eight-day trial and pronounced the sentence the following day.
