New Delhi, May 18 -- Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav today criticised the Delhi government's "Metro Monday" initiative, calling it a publicity exercise that fails to address the capital's larger governance and public transport challenges.

Yadav alleged that the initiative introduced by the government led by Rekha Gupta was aimed at diverting attention from issues such as rising fuel prices, inflation and shortcomings in public infrastructure.

He said the recent increase in CNG prices, along with higher petrol and diesel rates, had added to the financial burden on the common people already dealing with rising prices of vegetables and essential commodities. The Delhi Congress demanded rollback of the increased CNG and fuel prices. ...
