New Delhi, July 4 -- The Delhi Congress has alleged that the deployment of regular government school teachers for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is disrupting classroom teaching and adversely affecting students in government schools.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav claimed that the Rekha Gupta-led Delhi Government has assigned teachers from government schools in Bhalswa and GTB Nagar to Booth Level Officer (BLO) duties for the SIR exercise, despite schools facing a shortage of teaching staff.

According to Yadav, the Bhalswa government school has around 1,200 students, and more than 20 regular teachers have been deployed for SIR-related work, leaving about 15 guest teachers to conduct classes....
