New Delhi, June 19 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has recommended the transfer of 39 doctors posted since a very long time in the Tihar and Mandoli jails, and proposed the deployment of around 35 other doctors in their place.

Terming it as a move to improve health services and make human resource management more accountable and effective, the CM said that the recommendation for transfer of these doctors has been sent to Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and is aimed to strengthen the administrative framework.

According to Gupta, transfer of these 39 doctors serving in Tihar and Mandoli jails for five years or more has been proposed, and the list includes both specialist doctors and General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs).
