New Delhi, June 8 -- The Delhi government on Sunday launched a Rs138-crore sewer project for Karawal Nagar in the north-eastern part of the union Territory as part of its efforts to mitigate the challenges faced by the people of the area.

Lauunching the project jointly with state BJP chief Harsh Malhotra, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said Karawal Nagar had long struggled with issues related to drainage, sewerage, drinking water supply, and basic infrastructure.

She said the Delhi Government is committed to providing permanent solutions to these challenges, and the foundation of the new project marks a major step in that direction.
