New Delhi, May 3 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, during her address at the Delhi Metro's 32nd Foundation Day here said that the system has become national capital's lifeline, and is a benchmark of efficiency and discipline.
CM also announced a major expansion of the Delhi Metro network, saying that work under Phase IV and Phase V is progressing rapidly, and preparations are underway to begin construction on seven new corridors under Phase V (B), which will further strengthen connectivity across the city.
Describing metro as city's lifeline, she credited the employees, officers and support staff for their commitment, saying their professionalism has made the system a globally recognised model of urban transit.
