New Delhi, May 15 -- Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to the citizens to reduce petrol and diesel consumption and avoid foreign travel in order to save foreign exchange, as well as the Delhi government's announcements on fuel conservation, the state BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that these are emergency measures taken in the national interest.

In a statement, Sachdeva said that, along with the entire country, the people of Delhi understand the importance of the Prime Minister's appeal for saving foreign exchange, and all national capital residents will support the PM's call to reduce petrol and diesel usage by increasingly adopting measures such as opting for public transport and car pooling.
