New Delhi, Aug. 9 -- The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun a week-long programme to commemorate India's 80th Independence Day, with party leaders and workers carrying out cleanliness drives at martyrs' memorials and paying floral tributes to freedom fighters and national heroes across the capital.
The programme, being coordinated by Delhi BJP General Secretary Vishnu Mittal, is aimed at honouring those who contributed to the country's freedom and subsequent national service while encouraging citizens and party workers to maintain memorial sites.
