New Delhi, June 29 -- : Heatwaves in several parts of Delhi baked the city as temperatures continued to rise for the second day in a row.
On Monday, Safdarjung, Delhi's base weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 42.2degC, logging the hottest day of the season so far.
According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwaves were witnessed at three stations, Lodhi Road, Palam and Ridge, in the national capital, with maximum temperatures exceeding 4.5 degrees above normal.
At Lodhi Road and Palam, the maximum temperature touched 42.1degC and 42.4degC, departing 5.1 and 4.8 notches above normal. While at Ridge, the temperatures soared higher and settled at 43.4degC, departing 4.7 degrees above normal, witnessi...
