New Delhi, June 19 -- Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, will jointly establish a climate observation station in Devasthal, Uttarakhand, as part of the Bharat Climate Observation Network (BCON), said the officials from the Ministry of Earth Sciences on Friday.
On June 18, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between IITM and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, to promote collaborative research on climate change and sustained observations of critical climate variables.
The Devesthal observation centre will be the second one in the BCON cluster, announced by the ministry this year.
