New Delhi, May 5 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of an innocent child who had fallen into an open drain in the Mukundpur area of Bhalswa Dairy, Outer North Delhi.
Ms Gupta has described the incident as extremely distressing and alarming, and stated that such negligence is unacceptable under any circumstances.
Acting swiftly on the CM's directives, the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department has dismissed the contractual Junior Engineer concerned from service with immediate effect.
Ms Gupta has affirmed that the government's priority is to ensure the safety of every citizen, particularly children, who are the most vulnerable.
