Kakamigahara (Japan), Sept. 23 -- India's women's hockey team produced another devastating attacking display at the Asian Games here on Wednesday, but it was Deepika Sehrawat who stole the spotlight, scoring a record nine goals as the reigning champions crushed Thailand 20-1 for their third straight Pool B victory.
Deepika's nine-goal burst was the most by an Indian woman in a single Asian Games hockey match, underlining her extraordinary start to the tournament. The forward has now scored 20 goals in just three matches.
She had already struck eight times in India's opening 19-0 demolition of Uzbekistan before adding three in the 17-1 win over Indonesia.
