New Delhi, May 23 -- N ArunaGiri, CEO of TrustLine Holdings, said that to understand the sharp decline in Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) ownership, one has to look at the broader context and how India's weight has evolved in MSCI emerging markets in previous years.
ArunaGiri said that FII ownership in Indian-listed equities has fallen to a 14-year low of around 14.7 percent, compared with the 18 percent level seen a few years ago.
But simultaneously, India's weight in the MSCI emerging market index has declined from over 20 percent about two years ago to 12 percent (plus) currently.
