Shimla, June 24 -- With drivers and conductors of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) set to go on strike from June 25, authorities have invoked the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) and initiated contingency measures to maintain public transport services.

The talks remained unresolved after union representatives walked out of a meeting convened by the state government.

According to a government official spokesperson,"The HRTC management had been holding continuous discussions with employee representatives and making efforts to address their concerns.
