Shimla, June 24 -- The deadlock between the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) management and employees' unions ended on Wednesday, after talks with the state government, leading to the withdrawal of the proposed statewide strike scheduled from midnight on June 25.
The breakthrough came after discussions between union representatives and Transport Department Additional Chief Secretary Transport R D Nazeem, during which assurances were given on various pending demands of HRTC employees.
Following the meeting, the unions agreed to call off the strike, ensuring normal operation of bus services across the state.
The strike had been announced over pending financial and service-related issues.
