Vancouver, June 19 -- Canada delivered one of the most commanding performances of the FIFA World Cup so far, overwhelming nine-man Qatar 6-0 in a one-sided Group B encounter at BC Place on Friday, with Jonathan David scoring a hat-trick and Cyle Larin also finding the net.
Backed by a crowd of 52,497, the Canadians were in control from the outset and rarely allowed Qatar any opportunity to settle into the contest. The hosts created early openings through Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan, forcing Qatar goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada into action on several occasions.
