Chitrakoot, Feb. 11 -- A 65-year-old Dalit fair price shop dealer was allegedly beaten to death by three men following a dispute over an electricity connection in Chitrakoot district's Raipura police station area, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Laudhiya Mafi village on Tuesday night, where a transformer had been burnt out for nearly a week and a half, disrupting power supply to part of the village. Residents had collectively raised funds to draw electricity from another transformer located some distance away and were privately installing cables to connect their homes.
