Bhabua, Sept. 22 -- A school teacher who fell victim to cyber fraud in Kaimur district has recovered Rs 73,000 after the district police took prompt action.
According to police, Rs 73,000 was fraudulently debited from the bank account of Akanksha Devi, a teacher at Mahro Middle School in Mohania block. The money was transferred to an account located in Shiromani Nagar, Shahabad, in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district. Soon after noticing the unauthorised transaction, Devi lodged a complaint through the national cybercrime helpline 1930 on September 21.
Acting on the complaint, personnel of the Kaimur Cyber Police Station in Bhabua moved swiftly and got the entire amount placed on hold in the recipient account, police said.
