New Delhi, July 29 -- India are assured of at least nine boxing medals at the Commonwealth Games after eight pugilists won their quarterfinal bouts on Wednesday to reach the semifinals, joining Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain, who had received a direct entry into the last fourof women's 75kg category.

Former junior world champions Sakshi Chaudhary (women's 51kg) and Arundhati Choudhary (women's 70kg) led the charge as Priya Ghanghas (women's 60kg), Preeti Pawar (women's 54kg), Jadumani Singh (men's 55kg), Sachin Siwach (men's 60kg), Ankush Yadav (men's 80kg) and Narendra Berwal (men's 90kg) also progressed to the semifinals of their respective categories, ensuring a flurry of medals for the country.
