CUTN inks MoU with SoI for scaling up geospatial research, training

Chennai, May 26 -- The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) on Tuesday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Survey of India (SoI) for scaling up geospatial research and training.

The MoU was signed between Prof. R. Thirumurugan, Registrar, CUTN and Ch.Venkatesvara Rao, Director, SoI, in the presence of Prof. M. Krishnan, Vice Chancellor, a University release said.

Under the National Geospatial Policy (NGP) 2022 framework, the SoI bears the critical national responsibility of exploring and mapping the country's domain to generate authoritative foundational geospatial datasets, spanning Geodetic Reference Frames, high-resolution orthoimagery, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), administrative boundaries, and toponymy, vital for...
