New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- The swine flu virus (H1N1) circulating in India originated in the US state of Missouri, sources from the Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The viral strain has been in circulation since last year, senior scientists from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed, clarifying that "no new strain has been identified" and urging that "there is no cause for panic.""Vaccine recommended for the Northern Hemisphere works well for the prevailing influenza infections," the source said.
