Hyderabad, March 18 -- CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 2 Degrees Clicon Pvt. Ltd. to collaborate on advanced research in plastic-to-fuel technology.
The collaboration aims to develop solutions for converting non-recyclable, end-of-life plastics into alternative industrial fuels, supporting sustainable waste management and reducing reliance on conventional fossil fuels.
The Hyderabad based institute said plastic waste from fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), particularly multi-layered packaging such as snack wrappers and sachets, remains difficult to recycle and often ends up in landfills or is disposed of through open burning.
