Ranchi, April 8 -- A CRPF COBRA commando Rakesh Kumar, who died after being injured during a storm in Jharkhand's Saranda area, was paid tribute at a CRPF camp in Ranchi on Wednesday.

Senior officials, including CRPF IG Saket Singh, Jharkhand Police IG (Operations) Dr Michael Raj, Jharkhand Jaguar IG Anup Birthare and DIG Indrajeet Mahtha, paid their respects and participated in the ceremonial honours.

Officials said the jawan was injured when a tree fell on him during strong winds and rain late at night after he had returned to the camp.
