Kolkata, May 28 -- : After the resignation of senior Trinamool Congress leaders like Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Indranil, party spokespersons Shantanu Sen and Arup Chakraborty resigned not only exposing the growing internal unrest after election defeat but further deepening the crisis within the party.

Former minister and Trinamool Congress leader Shantanu Sen has resigned from the post of the party's national spokesperson, writing to former Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee that he was stepping down in keeping with the people's verdict.

His resignation comes at a politically sensitive time for the party following its heavy defeat in the Assembly elections.
