Mumbai, Oct. 5 -- In a major breakthrough for protesting civil service aspirants, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today recommended that Governor Jishnu Dev Varma establish a special inquiry committee to initiate action against former and current members of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) under Article 317 of the Constitution.
The development follows weeks of intense statewide student agitations-spearheaded notably by aspirants and opposition leaders in Pune-over persistent irregularities, administrative mismanagement, and examination controversies.
