Panchkula, June 16 -- Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma on Tuesday set an ambitious target to make Panchkula a completely child labour-free district, directing the District Task Force to intensify enforcement drives across brick kilns, hotels, dhabas, construction sites and traffic junctions. He also ordered strict legal action against those found employing children.
Chairing a meeting of the District Task Force and Vigilance Committee at the Mini Secretariat, Sharma said child exploitation would not be tolerated and stressed the need for both strong enforcement and sustained public awareness to eliminate the practice at its roots.
