Hyderabad, Oct. 20 -- CPI National Secretary and former MLA Palla Venkat Reddy and CPI MLC Nellikanti Satyam on Monday urged the Telangana government to immediately commence work to supply water from the Yedula Reservoir to the Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme, cautioning political leaders against creating inter-district disputes over water.
Addressing a press conference at Makhdoom Bhavan in Himayatnagar, they said the project was crucial for providing irrigation and drinking water to fluoride-affected Munugode and Devarakonda constituencies in Nalgonda district. They said the Palamuru project's Detailed Project Report (DPR) included an allocation of 0.5 TMC for these areas.
