Hyderabad, July 29 -- Communist Party of India (CPI) Executive Member K. Narayana on Wednesday welcomed Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's acknowledgment that his earlier "cockroach" remarks had hurt the sentiments of protesters and praised him for correcting his stand.
In a video statement released from Hyderabad, Narayana said the Chief Justice's response reflected the dignity of the judiciary, adding that acknowledging and rectifying mistakes strengthens public confidence in democratic institutions.
At the same time, Narayana strongly condemned the alleged derogatory remarks made by BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut against Gen Z youth and women, calling them offensive and irresponsible.
