Patna, May 31 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) today strongly opposed the Centre's reported proposal to provide digital currency benefits to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act instead of distributing foodgrains through the Public Distribution System (PDS), alleging that the move would weaken the country's food security framework.
CPI Bihar state secretary Ramnaresh Pandey condemned the proposal and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
