Kolkata, March 19 -- The Left Front announced its second list of 32 candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections on Thursday, with the notable absence of senior Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leaders Mohammed Salim and Sujan Chakraborty, both of whom had contested in the previous Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
Of the 32 candidates announced in the second phase, 28 belong to the CPI-M, while one candidate has been fielded by the RSP and three by the CPI.
However, the exclusion of Salim and Chakraborty has drawn attention within political circles.
