New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday demanded the reversal of an order approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) concerning a repayment plan involving Zee Group Founder and Chairman Subhash Chandra, alleging that the decision reflected a pattern of extending undue relief to large corporate defaulters at the expense of ordinary taxpayers and small depositors.

In a statement issued by its Politbureau, the CPI(M) strongly criticised the approval of a repayment plan of Rs. 6.5 crore against claims totalling Rs 22,006.57 crore, describing it as a "mockery of the principles of fair justice".
