New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- CPI(M) general secretary M A Baby on Monday accused the BJP-led union government of adopting foreign policy positions at odds with the commitments reflected in the BRICS Joint Declaration, while welcoming the grouping's reaffirmation of solidarity with Palestine, opposition to unilateral economic sanctions and commitment to safeguarding the interests of the Global South.
Baby said the contrast between the BRICS declaration and the Modi government's recent foreign policy approach was "hard to miss" and called for a recalibration of India's external engagement.
