New Delhi, June 6 -- CPI Rajya Sabha MP and Leader of the CPI in the Upper House, Sandosh Kumar P, has on Saturday urged the Centre to order an independent inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Food Corporation of India's silo contracts and the growing concentration of India's food storage infrastructure in private hands.
In a letter dated 6 June 2026 to union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Kumar flagged "serious allegations" concerning the implementation of FCI's "Hub and Spoke" silo scheme and the ongoing restructuring of public grain storage.
