Tirupati, April 1 -- K Narayana, CPI National Committee member, on Wednesday demanded that the Supreme Court reconsider its recent judgment denying Scheduled Caste (SC) status benefits to Dalit Christians.
Speaking to the media at Nagari town in Chittoor district after interacting with Christian pastors and community leaders, Narayana strongly criticised the verdict, which upheld an Andhra Pradesh High Court ruling that Dalit Christians are not entitled to SC benefits or protection under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in certain cases.
