Kakinada, July 27 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Monday demanded that the Centre provide Rs 1 crore as compensation to each victim of the alleged NEET paper leak, with party workers staging a dharna in front of Dr B.R. Ambedkar's statue at Godarigunta in Kakinada.
The protesters raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the Centre's education policies had jeopardised the future of students.
Addressing the gathering, CPI State Secretariat member Thitipaka Madhu alleged that a "mafia" had taken control of the country's education system and demanded the immediate repeal of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the National Education Policy (NEP).
