Patna, June 26 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Friday condemned the alleged mob lynching of two Dalit youths in Nalanda district and accused the state government of attempting to cover up the incident.
CPI Bihar state secretary Ramnaresh Pandey alleged that law and order had completely deteriorated under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government and claimed that the police were targeting innocent people instead of taking action against criminals.
Referring to the Rajgir incident, Pandey alleged that the two Dalit youths were lynched by a mob over allegations of theft.
He claimed that despite a police station being located close to the spot, police failed to intervene in time to prevent the killings.
