Dhule, May 18 -- Cow vigilantes have apprehended alleged cattle smugglers, who were trafficking cows in VIP vehicles, following a dramatic, "filmy-style" chase.
Several cows were rescued during an operation conducted early this morning on the Surat-Nagpur Highway.
In connection with this incident, the Taluka Police have seized both the vehicle and the cows, and have registered a case.
The cattle smuggler, however, remains at large.
The cow vigilantes had received intelligence indicating that cows were being smuggled in VIP vehicles along the Surat-Nagpur Highway.
