Bengaluru, May 18 -- The Karnataka High Court has directed the State government and police authorities to take down alleged AI-generated and morphed content targeting Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade and his family members from social media platforms, media outlets and internet URLs.

The interim order was passed on May 14 by a vacation bench of Justice S.R. Krishna Kumar while hearing a petition seeking urgent intervention against the circulation of deepfake and manipulated material allegedly maligning the Dharmasthala family.
