Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 15 -- A Thiruvananthapuram court has issued notice to former Public Works and Tourism Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas and his wife Veena Vijayan in a petition alleging concealment of Rs 1.72 crore received by her from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) in election affidavits.
The notice follows a revision petition filed by advocate Neyyattinkara P. Nagaraj challenging a magistrate court's decision to dismiss his complaint seeking criminal action against the couple for allegedly submitting false affidavits and concealing material information.
The petitioner has sought directions to register a case against Riyas and Veena or order a police investigation to collect further evidence.
