Srinagar, May 18 -- Jailed Baramulla Member of Parliament Abdul Rashid Sheikh popularly known as Engineer Rashid was on Monday granted interim bail by a Delhi court to attend the last rites of his father, Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, who passed away last night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after a prolonged illness.
Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) leader Firdous Baba said that the jailed MP was granted bail subject to previous conditions upto June 2 following the demise of his father.
The court granted relief after Rashid, lodged in Tihar Jail in a terror-funding case,moved an application seeking permission to participate in the funeral rites.
