Palghar, June 5 -- A sensational incident has come to light in the Saravali area of Dahanu taluka in Palghar district, where a couple was subjected to a deadly axe attack driven by superstition and the suspicion of alleged 'Karni' (witchcraft).
The woman, who sustained severe injuries in the attack, succumbed to her wounds during treatment, while her husband remains in critical condition.
According to reports, the wife of the accused-identified as Vilas Arjun Namkoda, a resident of Patilpada in Saravali-had been suffering from a prolonged illness. She passed away a few days ago.
