Patna, Aug. 2 -- Counting of votes for the high-profile Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar will be taken up on Monday under elaborate security arrangements at A.N. College in Patna.

Official sources said here on Sunday that the counting centre will be guarded by Central Armed Police Forces, Bihar Police personnel and magistrates.

The entire premises is under CCTV surveillance, while the strong room, where the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been stored since polling, will continue to be under a multi-layer security cover.

Polling for the by-election was held on July 30 which recorded a voter turnout of 34.30 per cent.
