Mangaluru, July 16 -- A counterfeit currency printing and circulation racket has been busted in Uppinangady in Dakshina Kannada district, with police arresting seven persons and seizing fake Rs 500 notes, printing equipment and materials allegedly used to manufacture counterfeit currency.
Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police C.B. Riswanth said the accused were arrested following a raid conducted by Uppinangady police based on specific intelligence that fake currency was being printed and circulated in the area.
